This accessibility statement applies to the Generation Study website (www.generationstudy.co.uk) version 2.0. The Generation Study website is run by Genomics England Limited. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website.

We have aimed to make this website accessible and user friendly. Where possible, we have made every effort to make our website accessible to WCAG 2.2 level AA standards and to be compatible with assistive technologies.

The Generation Study website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2 AA standard, due to the non-compliances listed below.

We know from accessibility reports that parts of this website are not fully accessible. Below is a description of known limitations, and potential solutions. Please contact us if you observe an issue not listed below.

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons:

Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations

  • The overview video on the home page does not include a transcript. However, YouTube closed captions are available.
  • The ‘Owen’s Story’ video on the ‘Benefits and risks’ page has subtitles within the video, but they do not include names that appear on screen. Additionally, the subtitles do not have sufficient colour contrast from the background. However, YouTube closed captions are also available.
  • The translated participant information sheets are currently only available as PDFs. However, it is possible to use your device’s translation feature (for example, Google Translate) on the English HTML version.

The necessary measures are to be taken in order to reach full compliance.
